| Purpose |
A patch program for those who love camp! Through this
opportunity, your girls will be able to experience camp and all
the fun it has to offer. |
|
To earn the "Got
Camp?" patch, each girl/troop must complete the
following number of activities.
- 5
patch activities including the one starred*.
- 6 patch activities including the one starred*
  - 7 patch activities including the one starred*
Once you complete the
main patch you can earn extension pieces for each camp you
visit.

and Creating an Inclusive Culture in Girl Scouting. |

A kit that includes
activities, discussion questions, and facilitator's guide.
Designed to be completed consecutively over approximately six
meetings. An alternative to the troop kit is to attend the
Peace'n It All Together patch workshop.

ZINK THE ZEBRA

The Zink the Zebra
program is designed to teach an appreciation of differences,
respect for one another and treating others with compassion and
understanding through fun and educational activities. The
story of Zink the Zebra helps to identify serious
problems many individuals face because of actual or perceived
differences. The Zink patch program is ideal for troops
and groups. The program kit includes a leader guide and a
video or storybook which must be returned upon completion of the
activities. Each kit (leaders guide and book or video) may
be checked out for two weeks. A special stuffed zebra
(blue for Daisy, green for Brownie, yellow for Junior and red
for Cadette & Senior) and patch is also included for each
participant. The Zink patch program is $6.00/girl for the
zebra and patch. You will be contacted once we have
received your form. |

The Smart Kids 101
patch programs are designed to teach skills to girls in between
the ages of 11-18. They have three different patch
programs available and each kit includes a Leaders Manual,
Video, Girl Booklets, Patches, and Certificate Cards. The
kits available for check out through the Girl Scout center are
listed below.
Babysitting 101
- Includes: knowing what parents look for in a sitter,
marketing yourself and what to charge, learning first aid,
including Heimlich Maneuver & CPR, understanding the likes and
dislikes of children, troubleshooting the most common problems
and solutions, answers to the most frequently asked babysitting
questions. (For girls ages 11 & up)
SafeKids 101 - Staying home alone, answering the
door or the telephone, learning first aid, including Heimlich
Maneuver & CPR, identifying fire safety rules, understanding
internet safety - who an I really chatting with?, knowing
nationally recognized gun safety rules, dog emergencies, four
steps to staying safe, and abuse, abduction & stranger danger.
(For Juniors)
PoliteKids 101 - Understanding basic politeness,
practicing telephone etiquette, developing table manners,
identifying community manners, classroom consideration, and
respect for others, learning birthday party manners, and
recognizing good sportsmanship. (For Brownies). |

OUR OWN TROOP'S TRY-IT,
BADGE OR INTEREST PATCH PROJECT

Remember that topics must be approved and activities received by
the program department before your troop begins work on the
try-it, badge, patch. Activities should be submitted on
Our Own Troop's Try-it/Badge/Patch Activities Form.
Girls may then decide on the symbol that will represent their
topic and purchase the blank try-it/badge/patch from the Council
store. |
MS. PRESIDENT PATCH

GSUSA has teamed up with The
White House Project, an organization that is changing the way people
think about women in leadership roles, to create an exciting new Ms.
President Patch for Girl Scouts of all ages.
Girls today have more choices than even
before of what they can do when they grow up. Why not dream of becoming
the first Ms. President? Ms. President, an online participation patch,
can be found on the Just for Girls section of the Girl Scout website at
www.girlscouts.org.
This patch provides an opportunity for
girls to experience and celebrate women who are on the frontlines of
government today. Girls can discover the accomplishments of strong women
such as Sojourner Truth and Sybil Ludington by completing a matching
game, or can explore the endeavors of women who have taken to the
campaign trail.
Activities designed to be fun and
informative have been developed for Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts,
Junior Girl Scouts, and Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts. Patches can be
purchased through the council store or by calling the Girl Scout Center,
ext. 141.

DRINK MILK

introduce the girls to the importance of this food group. Girls
will learn to identify milk group foods that will satisfy their
tastes, about the relationship between milk and healthy bone
development, and will develop a personal plan for getting at
least three servings of milk daily.

This patch is designed to help
girls understand the importance of the Underground Railroad,
especially here in Ohio. Girls will learn how people of diverse
religions, social status and nationalities all worked together
to create freedom trails using a complex system of secret codes
and escape routes. Girls will learn about the life of a slave in
the early 1800's and explore the concept of freedom.
