GOLD AWARD PROCESS WORKSHOPS - Cincinnati

Ages:

Workshops are presented for Senior Girl Scouts and their adult mentors.  They are informational sessions focusing on the preparation process and all of the requirements to earn the award as well as criteria for the final project.  Official GSUSA Gold award packets can be purchased at the council store (samples will be available for review at the workshops) and supplemental workbooks will be provided at no cost.  Girls should bring their Interest Project Book if available.  Girls are encouraged to visit www.girlscouts.org to review the Gold Award requirements prior to attending the workshop.

All Gold Award proposals MUST be approved by the Gold Award Committee prior to beginning the project.

The Gold Award Committee meets the fourth Tuesday of each month to approve projects.  The November and December meetings will be combined into one meeting in early December.  Applicants will be notified of the date.

Gold Award applications must be submitted to Chris Salley at least two weeks prior to the meeting.  Applicants will be contacted to arrange an appointment for interview at the next committee meeting.  Interviews last approximately 15 minutes each.  Please note that the committee does not add special meetings to accommodate schedules.  Special arrangements may be made in extreme circumstances.  Applicants should carefully review their projects/proposal before submitting to ensure that it is legible and that it fully answers each question and describes completely the project plan.
