PEACE'N IT ALL TOGETHER PATCH WORKSHOP

Ages:

A program opportunity designed to help girls become peacemakers. Girls will participate in activities that build their conflict resolution and affirmation skills while learning how to contribute to a safe social environment of trust, respect, and affirmation. An alternative to the patch workshop is to obtain a troop kit that includes activities, discussion questions, and a facilitator's guide so that the program can be completed in six consecutive meetings. Patches are NOT given at the workshop.

KIDS ON THE BLOCK PERFORMANCES

Ages:

Kids on the Block is an opportunity for Brownie & Daisy Girl Scouts to gain an appreciation, understanding, and respect of persons with disabilities.  During the performance, the girls will see three puppet shows, ask the puppets questions about disabilities and participate in activities that simulate disabilities.

ALOHA HAWAII

Ages:  (2nd/3rd grade)

Join us as we explore the history, culture and beauty of the United States of America’s 50th state. Activities will include the Hawaiian language, food, hula and games. Participants will receive the Aloha Hawaii patch at the conclusion of the program. Leaders, when registering, please include a list of first names of girls and adults attending for translation into the Hawaiian language.

FIRST AID FOR LITTLE PEOPLE

Girls will work on the requirements for the Safety Sense Try-it in this American Red Cross Chapter developed course. Girls will learn about many different types of safety and basic first aid and will receive a First Aid for Little People certificate upon completion of this course.

HOW, WHAT, AND WHY

Ages:

This will be a jam packed day of experiments and investigations. Discover what glop is and how to make it, blow up a balloon without using any of your breath, experiment with magnets, make your own paper to take home, and make invisible ink. You are guaranteed to walk away from this program a science genius, and will be working on completing requirements for two badges (Science in Action and Science Wonders) to prove it. Everyone should bring a sack lunch with them to the program.

JUMPIN' TO JUNIORS

Ages: 3rd grade only

Brownie Girl Scouts preparing to bridge to Junior Girl Scouting can come to Camp Libbey and work on their bridging requirements, all while having fun with Junior Girl Scouts who will serve as their hostesses and teach their classes. Only bridging brownies are eligible to attend this program. Girls will work on their first Junior badge, “Making It Matter” by learning about polymers, engineering, and acids and bases as well as work toward bridging requirements, such as learning about being a Junior Girl Scout from their hostesses. The Brownie leaders will have the option of attending the Junior Leader training while the girls are going through their classes, if you would like more adults in the training indicate so on your registration form (at least one adult must travel to the classes with the girls). * It is not required that girls attend this program in order to bridge to Junior Girl Scouts. Troops that attend this program do NOT complete the activities for the Bridge to Juniors patch. Lunch is included with this program.

Note: In order to provide this program to the most girls, troops must limit their number of adults to one adult per five girls.
