Community-sponsored opportunities offer troops/individuals activities that support the Girl Scout program goals.  These community groups have chosen to be listed in our resources and on our website and are familiar with our program goals, as well as Safety-Wise requirements.

Inclusion in the Volunteer Resource Disc is not an endorsement of these agencies.  Troop leaders should research the event/activity prior to registering for an event/activity to ensure that the event meets the needs and interests of their girls and all safety regulations are being met.

The Cincinnati Zoo offers the thrill of a wildlife adventure in a safe an educational atmosphere.  All Zoo education program encourage enthusiasm for learning about nature by engaging participants in a hands-on exploration of the world around them.  The Zoo classroom comes alive through games, hikes, scavenger hunts, animal demonstrations and tours.  Program participants will develop an appreciation for nature as well as the environment.


 

Pick-A-Badge Scout Programs

Who:

What:

The Pick-A-Badge scout programs provide scout troops with an in-Zoo adventure that meets all the needs of a scouting badge/achievement.

 

Badges offered:

Brownie:  Animals & Eco-Explorer Try-Its

Junior: Wildlife Badge

Cadette/Senior:  Wildlife Interest Project

When:

Programs can be scheduled:

every Saturday from March - mid-November at either 9:30 - noon or 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. or

every Sunday from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. March - May and September - mid-November (excluding Easter & Fathers' Day weekends)

Cost:

$12/girl

$8/non-zoo member adult (zoo member adults are free)

A minimum of 10 paying participants is required for these programs.
