Community-sponsored opportunities offer troops/individuals activities that
support the Girl Scout program goals. These community groups have
chosen to be listed in our resources and on our website and are familiar with our program
goals, as well as Safety-Wise requirements.
Inclusion
in the Volunteer Resource Disc is
not an endorsement of these agencies. Troop leaders should
research the event/activity prior to registering for an event/activity to ensure
that the event meets the needs and interests of their girls and all
safety regulations are being met.

ALL ABOUT BIRDS

Join us for a fun filled day as we
learn all about Native Ohio birds. We will be using
binoculars and a spotting scope, visiting our tree-top vista,
going on a birding hike, learning about Brukner Nature Center's
Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, as well as meeting some awesome
birds up close and personal. In learning about flight,
specialized beaks, and even environmental stresses that face
birds, you'll leave this program with a new appreciation for our
flying friends. |

ECO ACTION
In this program Girl Scouts will
learn all about the environment through hands on activities that
investigate water, soil, and the Ohio Wildlife. We will be
getting wet in the stream and at the pond as we learn how to use
water organisms to study stream quality. We will also be
getting dirty as we investigate soil issues right here in Ohio.
Participants will also meet some animals up close and personal
and learn how environmental stresses affect their populations. |
