POLICIES AND PROCEDURES OVERVIEW

Basic policies and standards are established by Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. and published in the Leader's Digest, Blue Book of Basic Documents, and Safety-Wise. Every troop should have a current copy of these documents. Individual councils establish additional policies needed to guide the volunteers and paid staff in the delivery of the Girl Scout program to girls in the community.

In its management role, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio establishes the following additional policies and may alter, delete, or add to them as warranted by conditions within the council.

The board of directors has developed its own set of policies, called the Board Policy Registry, to guide its actions. These policies serve the board in its governance.

Action taken as a result of an individual’s failure to follow established policies will be based on procedures set forth in Girl Scouts of Western Ohio's Volunteer Program Management policies and procedures.
